The Golden City
The Capital of the before mighty and huge Golden Kingdom, the center of the cult of The Golden Snake, dominating in ancient times on the almost entire continent. The Golden City is situated in a deep valley in the Golden Mountain which is widely opened towards The Black Wood. Now it's rather impossible to get there on your own feet. Even if you climb this high and impassable mountain, you can see far down a beautiful panorama of the golden roofs, obelisks, monuments, temples, towers, among the huge trees. Such a simphony of golden, and green, as far as your eyes can see...
Actually The Black Wood has already annexed this abandoned town. No one lives there anymore. But rumors say, that there still are the sentinels armored in gold, guardians of the Golden Snake. And Golden mages with golden eyes, that turn everyone, they see, into a golden statue. Because The Golden Snake, that nests in human minds, and eats the human hearts is still alive there.
Officially the whole area around the Golden City next to the Black Wood, including that mountain, is still called
||the Golden Kingdom, and it is a forbidden territory. There are many reasons for this, that we cant comment here.
Anyway, many adventurers go there seeking for ancient artefacts, or just for glory. A few come back. Most of them not quite in their mind, hairless, feet covered with gold, raving about the Insane Mistress of the All Taking Hand palace, then soon they die... Interesting is, that all mentioned by these miserable ones, golden warriors, mages, like their mistress, all of them are females only...
The Golden City was a center of an ancient civilization much before the cult of the Golden Snake takes over it. These Ancients have created the teleportation units used in now days yet. Probably it was a residence of one of the Seven Perfect Minds. There should be one of the Seals that keeps the Old Gods away from here, maybe broken by the worshippers of the Golden Snake. From there came the power of the Servants of the Golden Snake. That their magic signs on the little round gold pieces, and a system of exchanging, collecting, and lending them, soon made almost the whole human race the mindless Slaves of the Golden Snake...
